DescriptionMedium thin glass. A few pinprick bubbles. Blowing spirals.
Transparent natural pale green (5 G 7/2). Similarly colored handle and coil.
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.1 cm in diameter. Added coils. Excess glass at tip of handle folded to the side under thumbrest. Tooled.
Flaring circular mouth; rim rounded in flame. Tall cylindrical neck with curved transition to shoulder. Sloping shoulder. Bulbous body with greatest diameter at its midpoint. Domed base with pushed-in hollow tubular base ring. Plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to rim where it is pressed down to form a closed loop against the side of the mouth surmounted by a thumbrest projecting diagonally above the rim.
Rim coil and neck coil from left to right. On body, eight shallow circular indentations.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IA2a with coil handle IA2ab.
