DescriptionMedium thin glass. A few pinprick bubbles and a few black specks in body; more black specks in handle and coils.
Transparent natural dusky yellow (near 5 Y 6/4). Translucent moderate green handle and coils (near 5 BG 4/6).
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 7.0 cm in diameter. Added coils. Tooled. Excess glass at tip of handle folded up and back.
Flaring circular mouth; rim rounded and slightly thickened in flame. Cylindrical neck with curved transition to shoulder. Sloping shoulder. Squat bulbous body with greatest diameter at its midpoint. Round base with base coil. Straight plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to top of rim where it is folded upward and pinched to form a thumbrest projecting above the rim.
Rim coil and neck coil from left to right. On body, eight irregularly placed shallow circular indentations.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IA3a with coil handle IA2b.
