DescriptionMedium thin glass. Concentration of pinprick and small vertically elongated bubbles. Black specks.
Transparent natural pale green (near 5 G 7/2). Translucent similarly colored handle, thread, and coil. On body, moderate blue green thread (near 5 BG 4/6).
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.0 cm in diameter. Added coil and threads. Tooled.
Flaring circular mouth; rim rounded in flame. Tall cylindrical neck with slight taper and curved transition to shoulder. Bulbous body appearing cylindrical because of indented decoration. Domed base with pushed-in hollow tubular base ring. Curved plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to rim where it appears to have been folded down and up to form a figure-eight loop.
On mouth, seven horizontal revolutions of thread from left to right beginning near rim. Neck coil from left to right with decorative triangular buckle at point of application. On body, six revolutions of spiral thread from right to left starting at lowest point and adhering to surface of ten oval indentations.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IA2a with coil handle IA2a.
