DescriptionMedium thin glass. Vertically elongated bubbles in neck. Transparent natural pale green (5 G 7/2). Translucent to opaque dark blue handle and thread. Body blown into a vertically ribbed open mold and reblown. Neck and mouth free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.0 cm in diameter. Excess glass at end of neck coil folded in a loop and pulled down against body. Excess glass at tip of handle folded up against rim, then out and back in loop at top of handle. Flaring circular mouth; rim folded outward, upward, and inward. Tall cylindrical neck with toolmark at its base. Gently sloping shoulder. Domed body with slightly convex sides. Deeply concave base. Curved plain coil handle applied to shoulder (over end of neck coil) and attached to rim where it was pressed down to form a closed loop against the underside of the mouth. On body, approximately 24 expanded mold-blown corrugations from just below shoulder to bulge on underside of base. On lower half of neck, four revolutions of thick thread from top left to shoulder. CLASSIFICATION: IA1b with handle IA2a.
