DescriptionMedium thin glass. A few pinprick bubbles. A few black specks; more black specks in handle.
Transparent dusky yellow (5 Y 6/4). Translucent moderate green handle, coil, and thread (near 5 BG 4/6).
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.0 cm in diameter. Added coil and thread. Excess glass at tip of handle folded back on top of rim loop.
Flaring circular mouth; rim rounded and thickened in flame. Tall cylindrical neck with curved transition to shoulder. Nearly horizontal shoulder. Squat bulbous body with greatest diameter at its midpoint. Pushed-in tubular base ring. Straight plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to rim where it was pressed down to form a closed loop against the underside of the mouth.
Rim coil from left to right, continuing as a spiral thread with 11 revolutions on neck.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IA2a with coil handle IA2a.
