DescriptionThis jug is made of medium-thin glass in a transparent natural pale green hue (5 G 7/2), with greenish blue handles, threads, and coils (near 5 B 5/6 but more green). Medium-sized vertically elongated bubbles are visible in the neck. The vessel is free-blown with a pontil mark about 1.3 cm in diameter, added threads, and a coil. Excess glass at the tip of the handle is folded up against the mouth, then out and down between the handle and the mouth. Classified as Jug Class IIB2a with ribbed handle IIB2a, the jug features a spouted mouth with a rim rounded in the flame. The cylindrical neck has a bulge above the constriction at its base, leading to a sloping shoulder and an inverted piriform body. The domed base has a pushed-in hollow tubular base ring. A broad flat handle with four ribs between thickened edges is attached to the shoulder and the top of the rim, folding down to form a closed loop under the spout. Three casual revolutions of spiral thread decorate the exterior of the mouth below the rim, and a neck coil with a buckle runs from left to right.
