DescriptionThin glass. Numerous pinprick and spherical bubbles, vertically elongated in neck.
Transparent natural pale green (5 G 7/2). Translucent similarly colored handle and coil.
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.4 cm in diameter. Excess glass at tip of handle folded backward between handle and loop at top. Tooled.
Everted circular mouth; rim folded outward, upward, and inward. Concave cylindrical neck with curved transition to shoulder. Sloping shoulder. Squat bulbous body with greatest diameter just below midpoint. Deeply concave base. Curved plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to edge of rim where it is pressed down to form a closed loop against the side of the mouth.
Four irregularly placed circular indentations give body a roughly square shape. Neck coil from left to right with decorative buckle at point of application.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IA1b with coil handle IA2a.
