DescriptionThis jug is made of medium-thin glass in a transparent natural pale olive hue (10 Y 6/2) with translucent dark blue coils and handle. Numerous pinprick bubbles are present throughout. The vessel is free-blown with a pontil mark about 1.5 cm in diameter and added coils. Excess glass at the tip of the handle is folded outward and inward to form a closed loop, then incompletely clipped, leaving one trail folded back on top of the handle.
Classified as Jug Class IIB2a with coil handle IA2a, the jug features a spouted mouth with a rim rounded in the flame. It has a tall cylindrical neck with a slight bulge above the constriction at its base, a nearly horizontal shoulder, and an inverted piriform body. The domed base includes a pushed-in hollow tubular base ring. A curved plain coil handle is applied to the shoulder and attached to the upper rim, where it is folded outward, downward, and inward to form a horizontal closed loop. The rim coil and a neck coil with a buckle were added carefully.
