DescriptionThin glass. Concentrations of pinprick and small bubbles. Sandy impurities.
Transparent to translucent manganese colored grayish red (5 R 4/2). Translucent similarly colored handle.
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.1 cm in diameter. Excess glass at tip of handle folded back against thumbrest.
Trefoil mouth; rim folded outward, upward, and inward. Tapering neck with curved transition to shoulder. Strongly sloped shoulder. Piriform body. Concave base. Angular plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to mouth and rim where it is folded upward, outward, upward, inward, and pinched to form a thumbrest, then folded diagonally downward, inward, and upward to form a closed loop against mouth.
CLASSIFICATION: IIB1b with handle IA2a.
