DescriptionMedium thin glass. Fabric cannot be determined because of weathering.
Transparent natural pale green (near 5 G 7/2). Translucent pale green handle and coils.
Body blown into a vertically ribbed and grooved mold, twisted, and expanded. Neck and mouth free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.45 cm in diameter. Added coils. Excess glass at tip of handle folded backward against rim loop.
Trefoil mouth; rim rounded in flame. Short cylindrical neck with smooth transition to body; no distinct shoulder. Conical body. Concave base. Straight plain irregularly shaped coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to top of rim where it was folded down to form a closed loop against underside of mouth.
Rim coil and neck coil from left to right. On body, indistinct mold-blown, expanded corrugations slanting from top left to lower right and ending at edge of base.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug Class IB1a with coil handle IA2a.
