DescriptionThin glass. Fabric cannot be determined because of weathering.
Transparent manganese colored pale red (5 R 6/2). Translucent pale olive handle and coils (near 10 Y 6/2).
Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.4 cm in diameter. Added coils. Excess glass at tip of handle folded back on top of handle. CHECK toolmark on interior of handle.
Flaring circular mouth; rim rounded in flame. Concave neck with curved transition to shoulder. Strongly sloped shoulder. Elongated piriform body. Pushed-in domed base with hollow tubular base ring. Straight plain coil handle applied to shoulder and attached to rim where it was pressed down against the side of the mouth and back out.
Rim coil and neck coil.
CLASSIFICATION: Jug IA2a with a plain coil handle IA2a.
