DescriptionThis is a fragment of a cameo glass medallion showing the upper portion of a male head in profile, facing right. The design is carved in opaque white glass against a brown background. The figure has idealized facial features and curly hair escaping from beneath a traveler's cap (petasos), now mostly broken away. The medallion is oval in shape, and only the top half is preserved. The surface is heavily chipped at the front and sides, with weathering visible on the reverse.
