DescriptionThis rectangular strip fragment of cameo glass is carved in opaque white over a translucent cobalt blue ground. The scene depicts a stocky, frontal figure of Eros (Cupid) moving to the left. The figure’s left arm curves upward around the head, while the right arm is not shown. One wing is visible. The face is chubby with incised features, and the hair is also incised. The back is diagonally ribbed, and two finished edges are preserved. The surface is pitted, and the edge is chipped.
