DescriptionThis oval cameo glass medallion depicts the profile head of a veiled female figure, carved in opaque white glass against a dark ground. Facing left, the figure wears a turret crown and veil over wavy hair that frames her face. Her facial features include a narrow nose, an articulated brow, and incised eyes with defined pupils and irises. The subject’s gentle smile and stylized hair suggest an idealized female portrait.
