BiographySōsui 藻水 (Ōuchi Sōsui 大内藻水), 1911-1972. Began studying under Soko Morita at fifteen. Had been ill and had not carved for a long period of time. Worked mostly in wood, often using combinations of different woods, occasionally in ivory. Liked to carve animals, figures from everyday life, and occasional abstractions. Imaginative designs and meticulous workmanship.
