DescriptionMedium thin glass. A few small bubbles.
Transparent to translucent manganese colored very dark red (near 5 R 2/6).
Free-blown. Ring pontil mark of transparent natural pale green glass ca. 0.9 cm. Applied or mold-blown ribs.
Everted rim folded outward, upward, and inward. Deeply concave neck with concave transition to shoulder. Concave shoulder. Bulbous body with greatest diameter at midpoint. Base flattened, but vessel does not stand level because of protruding pontil wad.
Nine ribs from top of shoulder to base; convex ribs can be felt as convex bulges on interior. Irregular spacing suggests the ribs were applied, but the flow of glass and the bulges suggests they could have been blown in a vertically grooved mold.
