DescriptionThis straight-sided bowl on a true base ring is made of medium thick, transparent manganese-colored pale red glass (5 R 6/2). The glass shows blowing spirals and small bubbles. The vessel is free-blown with a visible pontil mark approximately 0.7 cm in diameter. The rim is outsplayed and rounded in flame. The straight sides taper slightly downward and join a round base with an interior bulge where the cup was pushed onto the true base ring. This form corresponds to Isings 1957, Form 87 (variation with true base ring).
