DescriptionThis narrow conical beaker on a base ring is made of thin, light glass of good quality with a few visible pinprick bubbles. The glass is transparent manganese-tinted pale red (5 R 6/2) with a similarly colored applied thread. The vessel was free-blown and has a pontil mark approximately 1.1 cm wide. The rim is rounded and slightly thickened in the flame. The body is cylindrical with straight sides and ends in a pad base with a flat underside and a low solid knob on the interior. A single revolution of very thin thread, applied from left to right, runs around the body approximately 2.8 cm below the rim. The form corresponds to Barag 1970, beakers type 4 through 7 (slender variation with flat base).
