Laura Donefer

Canadian (born in the United States), born 1955
BiographyLaura Donefer has been an important figure in Canadian and American glass for over thirty years. She received her training as a glass artist at Sheridan College School of Craft and Design in 1985. Since then, her work has been exhibited at Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Japan, Museo de Vidrio in Mexico, the Museum of Fine Art in Montreal, the Museum of Art and Design in New York, and the Museum of Fine Art in Quebec City. Throughout her artistic practice she attempts to create small bursts of joy through the forms she creates. Bright colors and textured amalgamations are common throughout her work and bring a lively spirit to her pieces. Along with her artistic practice she works passionately to build and strengthen the glass community in the US and Canada. She is president of the Glass Art Association of Canada and organizer of the “Glass Fashion Shows.”
