BiographyKatherine (Kathy) Gray is a highly-skilled glassmaker who brings intellectual rigor to her work and, manages, as few have done, to combine technical mastery with a conceptual approach. Gray has written about glass, curated exhibitions, and taught workshops around the world. Born in Canada, she is based in Los Angeles and shares her experience and insights with her students at Cal State San Bernardino. Gray was raised in Toronto and she studied at the Ontario College of Art and went on to receive her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design – one of the most respected glass programs in the country. Kathy has won several grants and awards including the Award of Merit from the Bellevue Art Museum and the ARC Completion grant from the Center of Culture Innovation in LA. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her work is included in the seminal 2019 exhibition New Glass Now at the Corning Museum of Glass.
