DescriptionThis round medallion is made of opaque cobalt blue glass, with a flat back and a raised rim. The surface is mold-pressed and cut, showing a double profile of a bearded male and a female figure, both facing left. The male, positioned in the foreground, wears a cloak fastened at the neck and has curly hair and a beard. The female, partially visible behind, has idealized features and wears a fillet over her rolled hairstyle. The medallion is chipped along the edge. Based on style, the figures may date to the Antonine period, and they have been tentatively identified as Marcus Aurelius and Faustina the Younger.
