DescriptionFont pressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing the pattern of Gothic arches, in conjunction with a one-piece cylindrical mold from which the domed top and lip were formed by reheating and tooling, by the Magoun patent method, by a plain male plunger. Joined by a wafer to a hexagonal standard on a scalloped base. Standard and base pressed upside down in a female mold of two vertical sections by a plain male plunger of tapered cylindrical and hexagonal shape that formed the hollow interior of the standard and base and the underside of the edge of the base. Slightly rough pontil mark around edge of opening to standard. Brass collar machined and threaded, fitted with a brass double-wick burner for burning fluid. Font and base gilded.
