DescriptionFont and base are in the same pattern as ACGC, p. 444, no. 691 and made in the same manner, but in different molds with minor variations, including the following: (1) there is no short cylindrical pressed stem below the cushion knop; (2) the vertical moldmarks terminate at the top of the block pattern instead of extending slightly upward; (3) the dome was formed from a cylinder in the manner of the Magoun patent of 1847, but the vertical, opposing moldmarks on standard and plinth terminate to the left of the chamfered corner; and (4) on the interior of the base there are larger diagonals at the corners. Slight pontil mark around edge of hollow standard. Pewter collar machined and threaded, fitted with pewter-and-brass double-wick burner for burning-fluid.
