DescriptionEntire piece pressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections that formed the hexagonal font with six loops, standard, and base, by a plain male plunger that formed the interior of the font, in conjunction with a plain male plunger, or plug, that formed the interior of the base. Moldmarks extend from the underside of the foot up to the collar. Upper part of font reheated and tooled to form the domed top and lip for the collar. Pewter collar fitted with a pewter-and-brass double-wick burner for burning fluid, with caps. Rough edge on underside of perimeter of base may be from a pontil. Underside of base not ground.
