DescriptionFont and stem, including cushion knop and short cylinder below it, pressed upright in a female mold of three vertical sections bearing six rows of block-and-printie patterns, in conjunction with a one-piece cylindrical mold from which the domed top was formed by reheating and tooling, by the Magoun patent method, by a plain male plunger. Joined by a wafer to a hexagonal standard on a square plinth with narrow chamfered corners. Standard and plinth pressed upside down in a female mold of two vertical sections, the mold opening diagonally at opposite corners at the right edge of the chamfer, by a plain male plunger that formed the hollow circular and square interior of the standard and base and also the flat underside of the base and short beveled edges that join the sides of the base. No pontil mark. Pewter collar machined and threaded.
