Label TextThis carved limestone mold was excavated in 1922 by the Egypt Exploration Society at the Main Town of Akhetaten (modern Amarna), the capital city built by Pharaoh Akhenaten. It was recovered during official excavations and distributed to the Toledo Museum of Art in that year’s division of finds. Molds like this were used in the production of decorative and ritual objects.
