DescriptionFragment of a mosaic wing, possibly from a scarab or sun-disk inlay. The piece has flat but broken and uneven upper and undersides. Composed of fused polychrome mosaic glass, it features an opaque dark blue ground with dark blue feather shapes outlined in opaque yellow. Above the feathers is a horizontal band composed of a polychrome mosaic strip bordered in opaque yellow. Fabricated from sections of mosaic cane, cast in an open, one-piece mold, and polished on the upper surface.
