DescriptionTwo square fragments composed of fused polychrome mosaic glass, each formed from a checkerboard pattern of four smaller squares. Each smaller square is created from symmetrically arranged square rods (mosaic cane) of various colors: opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque red, blue, opaque turquoise-blue, and opaque dark blue (appearing black). The diapered pattern is formed by the juxtaposition of these square glass sticks. The top and bottom surfaces are flat and polished; vertical edges are rough. Fabricated by fusing, casting, and cutting mosaic canes.
