DescriptionThis squat jar (classified as Jar Class IB4a, variation) is made of thin free-blown glass. The fabric cannot be determined because of weathering, but the body is transparent natural grayish green (5 G 5/2) with a translucent, similarly colored zigzag coil. A pontil mark about 0.9 cm in diameter is visible on the base. An added coil and thread were applied as decoration.
The jar features a rim that is rounded and thickened in the flame with a tool mark visible on the interior. It has a wide funnel neck and a concave shoulder. The squat, straight-walled body broadens toward a flat base. A freestanding zigzag coil, applied to the shoulder and attached to the rim, was trailed on from left to right with sixteen turns between shoulder and rim.
