While she has been working for decades, Caland has only recently received critical recognition in the U.S. for her expansive body of work. The artist was included in the Sharjah Biennale 14 (2019); 57th Venice Biennale exhibition (2017); and Made in LA at the Hammer Museum, UCLA (2016).
