DescriptionSquat bulbous bowl of transparent to translucent dark manganese-colored glass with opaque white thread, classified as Isings 1957, Form 17. The vessel is free-blown, tooled, and decorated with applied thread. The thin fabric cannot be determined due to weathering. The rim is ground with a concave lip; the body is squat and hemispherical with a rounded base. Seventeen irregularly placed ribs run vertically from the base to the lip, each overlaid with opaque white spiral thread. A band of six shallow horizontal grooves encircles the lower part of the lip, corresponding to a band of polishing marks on the interior. Intact. The exterior exhibits creamy white weathering and an iridescent film. The interior has severe surface pitting with remnants of golden iridescence.
