DescriptionMedium thin glass. Numerous pinprick, small, and medium-sized bubbles. Blowing spirals. Translucent to transparent dark royal blue (not in rock color chart). Free-blown. Pontil mark ca. 1.2 cm. Rim folded outward, upward, and inward. Short funnel neck with slight constriction at its base. Strongly sloped shoulder. Bulbous body with greatest diameter below midpoint. Concave base with low kick. CLASSIFICATION: Jar Class IA5a. REMARKS See acc. 23.0811. No parallel with color and shape known from a controlled excavation. A vessel with indentations excavated at Beth Govrin is reported to be dark blue, but from the publication it is not possible to say whether it is the same color as this jar.
