DescriptionThis Roman beaker, made from medium thin, clear pale green-tinted (10 G 6/2) glass, was free-blown and tooled. Small pinprick and elongated bubbles are visible throughout the body, with horizontal bubbles near the rim. The rim is everted, rounded, and thickened in the flame.
The tall, U-shaped body tapers to a point and sits on a separately blown base with flaring sides and a flame-rounded edge. A pontil mark approximately 1.4 cm in diameter is present on the base. Below the rim, two overlapping revolutions of applied thread encircle the neck for about 4 cm. On the body, two zigzag coils of glass create seven large ovals, visible as convex bulges on the interior surface.
