DescriptionBust is a smaller than life-size bust portrait sculpture in kiln-cast, opaque, beige glass. The sculpture depicts a woman with her hair tied back, ribs poking through her skin, and one breast missing, replaced by a scar. The woman tilts her head back and to the side, and her eyes are closed. To make this sculpture, Schaechter cast the glass in the rough form of the woman, then carved directly onto the object to add detail. The figure resembles those made by Schaechter in her two dimensional stained glass work.
