DescriptionTwo figures appear in a simply rendered room, with a yellow floor, pale pink wall, and a dark red curtain forming the backdrop. To the left, a female figure reclines on a chair in the nude, her body and white hair are formed of simplified shapes. The chair beneath her is a nondescript form painted in pale grey. The “artist” is to the right in the middle ground of the painting. Similarly abstracted, he wears a red robe, and pink pants, a large white canvas or paper laid out on his lap. The model stares forward, her face in profile, while the artist tilts his head in her direction as he sketches onto the page.
