Exhibition HistorySydney, Australia, Sabbia Gallery, Illumine: New Works in GLass by Richard Whiteley, August 5-27, 2016.Label TextRemain (in light) explores internal structures. It was partially inspired by the challenge of deciphering MRI screenings. The two-tone cast-glass rectangle has an internal ovular space that is reminiscent of a stomach. Glass allows for the internal form to be seen in tandem with the external structure. Light comes through the perceived interior and exterior simultaneously calling into question what is solid and what is void.- Glass
