DescriptionThis found object sculpture is comprised of a wooden door Boghosian's art frequently utilizes found objects that display the physical evidence of their past- scuffs, wear, and weathering are common. Prima Porta is typical in this regard. This found object sculpture is comprised of a door that Bogosian came across during his travels in Europe. The work shares a special connection to another of Boghosian's pieces, which bears the same name. That work is an 800 pound bronze door; cast in 1978, it hangs permanently in Dartmouth's Webster Hall.
