Label TextThis limestone fragment was excavated in 1922 by the Egypt Exploration Society at Maru-Aten, a palace complex in Akhetaten (modern Amarna), the capital city founded by Pharaoh Akhenaten. It depicts the hind legs of a goat and stalks of barley in raised relief.
