DescriptionA small, solid-cast bronze figurine depicting a nude male dwarf in a deep squatting position. The figure's feet are flat, supporting the weight, while the knees are drawn up sharply. The torso is compact, with both hands resting firmly on the hips. The head is large in proportion to the body, with a prominent brow and a neck that is bent forward and down, possibly indicating kyphosis or concealing a suspension loop. The surface exhibits a green patina with areas of red cuprite deposits on the back and face.
Label TextThis small bronze figure depicts a squatting dwarf with his hands resting on his hips. In the ancient world, physical differences were often viewed with a mixture of curiosity and superstition.
