DescriptionCompote: bowl pressed, probably upright, in a one-piece female mold bearing the Washington pattern by a plain male plunger. Joined by a wafer to a circular stem and foot. Base pressed upside down in a one-piece plain female mold by a male plunger bearing the Washington pattern. Rim lightly fire-polished. No pontil mark. Cover: pressed upside down in a one-piece female mold bearing the Washington pattern, in conjunction with a two-piece female mold that formed the finial, by a plain male plunger.
