DESCRIPTION Fragment of rim and side of small pyxis. Almost vertical rim, ground back on the outside to create a ledge for a fitted lid; vertical side, with a slight downward taper. On the exterior, a narrow horizontal groove cut at the junction of the rim and side. TECHNIQUE Assembled from lengths of cane and cast; rotary-polished on both surfaces; cut on the exterior.
