DescriptionMarbled mosaic pattern formed from huge polygonal sections of a single cane in a brown ground with numerous opaque white streaks. DESCRIPTION Fragment of bottom and base ring of large plate. Flat bottom, somewhat uneven on underside; wide, thick, rounded base ring. TECHNIQUE Assembled from sections of cane and cast; base ring cast as part of the vessel; rotary-polished on the interior; possibly fire-polished on the exterior; tooling marks on the underside near the base ring.
