DescriptionThis squat bottle, known as a candlestick unguentarium, is made of medium thin glass that appears transparent to translucent dark green (5 G 5/2), though the fabric cannot be fully determined because of weathering. An irregular wad of glass about 0.4 cm in size remains on the base. The vessel was free-blown and tooled. Its broad rim is outsplayed horizontally, rounded, and thickened in the flame. The tall cylindrical neck shows a tool mark and has a slight constriction at its base. The conical body makes up about one-third of the total height and rests on a base that is slightly kicked inward. This example is, classified as Candlestick Class XC"2b.
