Richard Mosse

Irish, born 1980
BiographyRichard Mosse was born in 1980 in Ireland and is based in New York. He earned an MFA in Photography from Yale School of Art in 2008 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, London in 2005. The recipient of the the 2017 Prix Pictet Prize for his series, "Heat Maps," Mosse was also the 2014 winner of the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for his film "Enclave" that was shown in the Irish Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale. He has exhibited widely internationally and nationally at the Palazzo Strozzi, Florence; the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro; the Bass Museum of Art, Miami; the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris; the Dublin Contemporary Biennial; FotoMuseum Antwerp (FoMu); FOAM, Amsterdam; and the Tate Modern, London. His work is represented by a number of public collections including the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, Missouri, The Martin Z. Margulies Collection, Miami, Musée d'Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, Canada, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, The National Gallery of Victoria, Australia, Nelson Atkins Museum, Kansas City, The Portland Art Museum, and Statoil Art Collection, Oslo.
