DescriptionComposed of 188 rose cut diamonds, sometimes referred to as Holland roses, this whimsical brooch depicts a gloved hand holding a floral branch and a closed parasol with tassels hanging from its handle.
Label TextThe Victorian period delighted in novelty jewelry with unexpected subject matter. This substantial brooch combines a parasol with a lady’s hand holding flowers. A pivoting pair of tassels near the handle indicates that the brooch would have been worn horizontally to allow the tassels to dangle freely with the wearer’s movements.
