Designed as a bunch of grapes with dew-dropped leaves, this brooch is distinctive for its undulating lines and naturalistic use of pearls and plique-à-jour enamel (an enamel technique using delicate “veins” of filigree wire).Published ReferencesTennenbaum, Suzanne and Janet Zapata, Jeweled Garden: A Colorful History of Gems, Jewels, and Nature, New York, Vendome, 2006, p. 50, repr. p. 63 top (col.).
