DescriptionThis circular ornament is constructed from two strands of solid gold wire twisted tightly together to form a rope-like hoop. The terminals are not soldered fixed; instead, they are fashioned into a sliding knot mechanism that allows the circumference of the loop to be expanded or contracted. The surface exhibits long draw marks consistent with ancient wire-drawing techniques, along with minor pitting and encrustation in the crevices. The diameter is approximately 3.5 inches (9.0 cm).
