Label TextThis painted storage jar was excavated in 1922 at Akhetaten (modern Amarna), the short-lived capital of Pharaoh Akhenaten, by the Egypt Exploration Society. The jar is decorated with a blue lotus-petal motif and was designed to stand upright in a fitted base. It was assigned to the Toledo Museum of Art that year through the formal division of finds conducted by the EES.Exhibition History
