DescriptionThis dark red jar from the mid-4th to mid-5th century CE has a distinctive pointed shape and sits on a ring-shaped foot. It was made by blowing molten glass and shaping it by hand. The rim has a small rolled edge, and the neck is wide and funnel-shaped. A sharply tapered body ends in a narrow point above the base. The foot is formed from a hollow ring of glass, giving the jar both stability and elegance.
