DescriptionThis free-blown and tooled glass vessel, classified as a Double Tube VE2a, consists of two flattened tubular compartments that narrow to a round base and have a rim folded inward and downward. The glass is transparent light olive-brown (near 5 Y 5/6), with a similarly colored upright looped border and coil handles. Small and medium-sized vertically elongated bubbles and some stone inclusions are visible in the body and the looped border. Blowing spirals are also present. A pontil mark approximately 1.6 cm in diameter remains on the base.
The vessel has four double-tiered angular coil handles applied to the middle of the body on the front, back, and sides; these handles are attached to the rim. Above the rim, an upright looped border is formed from two coils with circular sections. The first coil connects the right side handle to the front handle, touching down at the rim, and attaches to the top of the left side handle. The second coil connects the left side handle to the back handle, again touching down at the rim and attaching back to the right side handle. Rough areas on the upright looped border indicate that the vessel originally had a basket handle. Excess glass at the tips of the coils and handles is drawn out thin or pressed back against the handles.
